EyeLink Data Viewer is an intuitive tool that is intended for viewing, filtering, and outputting EyeLink tracker data. Data Viewer supports EDF files recorded by all SR-Research EyeLink hardware.
Data Viewer 5.2.14 runs on 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 only, and is fully compatible with EyeLink 3 data, including plotting and exporting the 6-DOF head data and novel pixel data, as well as playing back the eye video recordings. This version of Data Viewer also plays back Participant Camera Plugin / WebLink webcam recordings, and has a redesigned user interface.
Data Viewer 4.5.25 runs on Windows (7, 8, 10 and 11), macOS (10.11 and later), and current 64-bit Ubuntu Desktop LTS releases (>= 16.04). A video card with OpenGL 2.0 support at minimum is required.
Recent / Future OS Releases
We regularly test our software on the latest OS versions, but updates to Windows and macOS can sometimes involve changes that impact the functionality of our software. If you have any issues running Data Viewer on the latest version of Windows or macOS, please contact support@sr-research.com.
Data Viewer is backward compatible - Viewing sessions created in earlier versions of Data Viewer can be opened in the latest version, but viewing sessions created with more recent versions of Data Viewer cannot be opened with earlier versions.
If Data Viewer launches in unlicensed (Demo) mode, please ensure you have an active software license, or that the USB license key is attached and you have installed the latest HASP drivers that are provided with the software downloads. Please download the latest version from the links below:

Installing Data Viewer

The latest PDF and CHM versions of the Data Viewer User Manual are bundled with the software installer, but can also be downloaded separately from the Manuals / Documents section of the Learning Resources Forum.

We have done extensive testing to try and ensure that Data Viewer 5.2.1 & 4.51 is as bug free as possible, but if you encounter any issues please contact us at support@sr-research.com.
Ubuntu Linux Users:
Data Viewer 4.4.1 is now available on our repository and tested for support on Ubuntu 20.04 x64, and Ubuntu 18.04 x64.
Please refer to the Linux installation guide and follow the instructions to set up our software repository at its current URL. Section 1.5 of this document covers the installation of Data Viewer. Ubuntu Linux changes frequently. We aim to maintain compatibility with currently supported Desktop LTS releases of Ubuntu.
While our software may work on older releases or other Linux distributions, we cannot guarantee compatibility out of the box. If you experience any problems, please contact us at support@sr-research.com with information about your configuration (Linux distribution, version, and system architecture) and we will do our best to help.

Installing Data Viewer
Windows
- Download and run the .exe installer from the link above
- If this is your first time installing Data Viewer, after the main installer completes you will also need to install the HASP license driver (required for both physical USB license keys and software license activation codes). Click Windows Start -> All Programs -> SR Research -> Install HASP Driver
- If you have a previous version of Data Viewer installed on the computer, please uninstall it first by removing the "/Applications/EyeLink DataViewer" folder to Trash
- Click the dmg installer of the software. Select the "Data Viewer" folder in the package, and drag and drop it into the "Applications" folder.
- If this is the first time you have installed Experiment Builder, or if the USB license dongle is not glowing red, in the same Data Viewer installation popup window double click on the "HASP" folder and install "Sentinel_Runtime.dmg". You may have to unplug and replug the USB license dongle after installing the HASP driver.
- If you are using a recent version of macOS, you may be prompted to download the legacy Java 6 and install it.

- Please disable Grammarly if this software is installed, as it may cause issues with dialog boxes not appearing (see this thread for details).
