Experiment Builder 2.7.1
Last Updated March 30th, 2026
SR Research Experiment Builder is a visual experiment creation tool that runs on Windows and macOS.
Experiment Builder is backward compatible (projects created in earlier versions can be opened and edited in later versions) so there shouldn't be any worries about upgrading. Additionally, existing deployed projects are standalone executables, so upgrading to the latest version will not impact ongoing data collection or research.

Downloads
- Microsoft Windows (Supports 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x64) releases of Windows 10 & 11)
- macOS (Supports 10.12 up to 26)
* Important Note for macOS Users: Changes in recent versions of macOS may exhibit inconsistencies in visual stimulus presentation timing. While macOS can be used to develop and debug experiments, we recommend deploying the task on a Windows PC for data collection if accurate display timing is critical.
- Version 2.7.1 discontinued support for the Xvid codec. If your project uses .xvd clips, please replace them - including those in the library manager, datasource, and any video resources used in Display Screens - with clips encoded in a supported video format (e.g., .mp4, .move, or .avi), and remove the existing .xvd files from the library manager.
- For projects using video stimuli, EyeLink Data Viewer version 4.5 or later (on windows / macos / linux) or 5.2 on windows will be required for video playback at the analysis stage.
