Experiment Builder can automatically generate Interest Areas (IAs) around individual words in a text stimulus at runtime. This feature eliminates the need to manually draw an IA for every word in your text.
How to Enable Automatic IAs
How to Customize Segmentation
By default, the software creates an IA for each word using spaces as the boundary. If you need to change how words are segmented (e.g., using different delimiter characters or grouping multiple words), you can adjust the project-wide settings.
How to Enable Automatic IAs
- Select a Text Resource or Multi-line Text Resource node in your project.
- In the Properties panel, locate and check the box for Use Runtime Word Segment Interest Area.
- Note: This is typically found at the bottom of the property list.
How to Customize Segmentation
By default, the software creates an IA for each word using spaces as the boundary. If you need to change how words are segmented (e.g., using different delimiter characters or grouping multiple words), you can adjust the project-wide settings.
- Go to Edit -> Preferences.
- Navigate to Built-in Interest Area Preference -> WORD_SEGMENT.
- Adjust the settings here to resolve most segmentation issues.
