FAQ: What does "Warning:1047 Datasource use in recording sequence!" mean?
#1
When a Data Source is linked to a Recording Sequence, it will prevent Experiment Builder from performing essential functions such as transferring images to the Host PC, performing drift corrections, as well as other critical actions such as resetting triggers before each trial.

Therefore, it is highly recommended that the Data Source is linked to a sequence that is higher up in the hierarchical structure than the RECORDING sequence. This is typically the Trial Sequence, as demonstrated in the Experiment Builder Examples.

Please check out the Experiment Builder Video Tutorial Series, which provides a detailed explanation of how experiments should be structured including where the Recording Sequence and Data Source should be placed. The example projects included with Experiment Builder (File menu -> Examples) with documentation in the Experiment Builder User Manual (Help menu -> Content > Examples) are also useful templates when getting started.
