Visual World Paradigm ("Move ...")

Required Experiment Builder Version: 1.4.55 or higher
EyeLink Required: Yes
Type: Complete Example
Difficulty Level: Moderate

This example illustrates:
  • How to implement a transparency manipulation
  • How to use ASIO driver to play synchronized audio playing
  • How to use Mouse Trigger to pick up and move items
Description:

In this example, the participant will be shown a display containing four items. An audio instruction (e.g., "Move the umbrella to square 2") will be also be played. The participant will need to move the mouse cursor to pick up the target image (double click on the target item) and then move the image to the intended location. The "VisualWorld_Move.ebz" example will only allow the placement of the target once per trial.  However, the "VisualWorld_MMove.ebz" example allows you to drag and drop any of the items to any of the grid locations (i.e., supports multiple drag and drops); you will need to press any button on the EyeLink Button Box to end the trial. This example uses custom class code to determine the grid location where the item is dropped. The final drop-off location will be recorded in the EDF file (Analysis -> Trial Variable Value Editor).

Both examples require an ASIO compatible sound card installed on the Display PC (check out "Installation -> System Requirements -> ASIO Card Installation" section of the Experiment Builder User Manual).

This example runs 2 blocks of 2 trials, for a total of 4 trials.
