FAQ: If I program my experiment in Windows, will it work with on a Mac or vice versa?
#1
It's easy to transfer experiments between Windows and macOS, but there are a few important points to consider before you begin.

How to Transfer Your Project
  • Package the Experiment: On the original computer, go to File menu -> Package. This will create a single .ebz file containing your entire project.
  • Transfer the File: Move this .ebz file to the new computer (e.g., via USB drive, network transfer, or email).
  • Unpackage the Experiment: On the new computer, you can either double-click the .ebz file or open Experiment Builder and go to File menu -> Unpackage to import the project.
Important Considerations
Before deploying the experiment on the new computer, please verify the following:
  • Display Settings: Double-check that the new Display PC supports the experiment's required screen resolution and refresh rate.
  • Audio Drivers (for Mac to Windows transfers): When you move a project from macOS to Windows, the audio driver will default to DirectX. If your experiment requires precise audio timing, we strongly recommend:
    • Using a Windows PC with an ASIO-compatible sound card.
    • Setting the Audio Driver in your project's settings to ASIO.
For help installing the necessary drivers, please see the support article: "How do I synchronize audio within my experiment?" to properly install ASIO Driver.
