EyeLink Developers Kit / API v2.2.596

The EyeLink Developers Kit contains the application programming interface (API) which allows users to interface with the EyeLink Host PC from various programming languages (C, C++, C#, Python, Matlab, etc...) and third-party stimulus presentation software (including Psychtoolbox, Eprime, Presentation, PsychoPy, OpenSesame and others). The software package supports both 32-bit and 64-bit applications, and contains example templates as well as the EDF2ASC command line utility.

We regularly test our software on the latest OS versions, but updates to Windows and macOS can sometimes involve changes that impact the functionality of our software. If you have any issues with the Developers Kit on the latest version of Windows or macOS, please contact support@sr-research.com.

Note: For PyLink users, the Developers Kit includes PyLink .whl files for Python 2.7 and Python 3.6 - 3.14. Please see Getting Started with Python and PyLink . Alternatively, please check https://pypi.sr-support.com for information about using pip to install pylink from the PyPi package server.

• track -- a compiled example experiment that illustrates the gaze-contingent capabilities of EyeLink systems
  
• edf_reparser (Windows Only) -- a command-line utility to reparse Fixation, Saccade, and Blink events
  
• gctype (Windows Only) -- a compiled brain computer interface (BCI) example experiment that illustrates the use of gaze-contingency for typing
  
• getfile (Windows Only) -- a GUI-based utility that transfers an EDF file from the Host PC to Display PC
  
• srversion (Windows and macOS) -- a GUI utility for checking the version of the API
  
• EyeLinkBackup -- a utility for backing up EDF files, log files, the SCD file and critical .ini files
