FAQ: What does “Eyelink CL camera not found” or “Eyelink CL camera setup failed” mean?
#1
* This FAQ only applies to the EyeLink 1000 systems *

This error—"Eyelink CL camera not found" or "Eyelink CL camera setup failed"—indicates that the Host PC cannot detect the EyeLink 1000 camera. This is almost always due to a power or cabling issue.

Follow these two steps to resolve the problem:
  1. Check the Power Connection
    • Ensure the power cable is firmly attached to the EyeLink camera.
    • Verify that the LED on the power adapter is illuminated, confirming it's receiving power.
  2. Check the Data Cable Connection
    • Confirm that the black camera link data cable is securely connected at both ends:
      • One end to the frame grabber card in the Host PC.
      • The other end to the camera itself.
    • For the most reliable connection, unplug the cable from both the camera and the frame grabber card. Then, re-attach it securely, using the thumbscrews to fasten it tightly at both ports.
If the problem persists, please send the eye.log files that are located on the C:\ELCL\EXE directory of the Host PC to support@sr-research.com for additional support.
