Lexical Decision Paradigm

Required Experiment Builder Version: 1.4.402 or higher
EyeLink Required: No
Type: Complete Example
Difficulty Level: Easy

This example illustrates:
  • How to use Keyboard node to accept participant responses
  • How to use Accumulator node to store trial RTs
  • How to use Result File to save trial performance
Description:

This example was implemented based on Experiment 1 described in the following paper:
  • Meyer, D.E., & Schvaneveldt, R.W. (1971). Facilitation in Recognizing Pairs of Words: Evidence of a Dependence between Retrieval Operations. Journal of Experimental Psychology, 90, 227-234.
The experiment consists of totally 6 blocks: 2 practice blocks and 4 experiment blocks. Each block has 24 trials. After every block, there is a screen showing the result in the block as the performance feedback. After the experiment, there are 2 result files: RESULT_FILE.txt has detailed experiment data and RESULT_EACH_BLOCK.txt has the summarized experiment data for each block.

**Additional detailed information about the project is given in the notes section for most nodes. To see notes for a given node, either mouse over that node or click on it to display the notes window. If the notes window is not visible, go to the "View" drop down menu in Experiment Builder, select "Properties", and check "Note".
