This example illustrates:
  • How to use Result File node to save trial performance
  • How to Mouse trigger to get mouse click on target
Description:

This example is adapted after the experiments reported by Fitts (1954).
  • Fitts, P. M. (1954). The information capacity of the human motor system in controlling the amplitude of movement. Journal of Experimental Psychology. 47, 381-391.
In each trial, a fixation cross appears at the right end of the screen. Click on the left mouse button to start the trial. Each trial displays a blue bar to the left of the current mouse position. Bring the mouse cursor to the blue bar position and make a mouse click as quickly as possible.

The experiment consists of 5 blocks of 25 trials each. The whole session should last about 5 to 10 minutes.

Instructions:
  1. Download the Fitts_Law.ebz example from this message.
  2. Launch the Experiment Builder application.
  3. Unpack the Fitts_Law.ebz file to a location on your Experiment Builder PC with "File menu -> Unpack".
  4. Open the project in Experiment Builder.
  5. Deploy the project to a new folder.
  6. Run the Fitts_Law.exe from the deployed directory.
