This example illustrates:
  • How to use Sequence node to rapid presentation of a series of screens with
  • How to use Update Attribute action, and Timer trigger (using the "Start Time" attribute) to scheduling the upcoming screen display
  • How to use Result File node to save data output and message text for debugging
  • How to use Randomization Setting to randomize a list
  • How to use Splitting Column to have multiple Data Source Files
Description:

This example is based on Experiments 1 and 2 of the Rapid Serial Visual Presentation (RSVP) task described in the following paper: 
  • Raymond, J. E., Shapiro, K. L., and Arnell, K. M. (1992): Temporal Suppression of Visual Processing in an RSVP Task: An Attentional Blink? Journal of Experimental Psychology: Human Perception and Performance, 18, 849-860.
Please read the method section for details of the experiment procedure. Please note that the screen refresh rate, presentation rate, colors / luminance, and response methods used in this example are different from the original study.

Instructions:
  1. Download the RSVP.ebz example from this message.
  2. Launch the Experiment Builder application.
  3. Unpack the RSVP.ebz file to a location on your Experiment Builder PC with "File menu -> Unpack".
  4. Open the project in Experiment Builder.
  5. Deploy the project to a new folder.
  6. Run the RSVP.exe from the deployed directory.
