FAQ: Why won't my Host PC boot into EyeLink or Windows?

* This FAQ only applies to the EyeLink 1000 Plus and EyeLink Portable Duo Host PCs *

Over time and especially if the EyeLink system has not been used for a while, the internal CMOS battery can discharge, which can reset BIOS settings to their defaults.

To correct the BIOS settings:
  1. Please press F12 during startup - you should see a boot menu
  2. From here go into BIOS setup
  3. In the resulting screen under the System Configuration -> SATA Devices, make sure this is set to AHCI
  4. Save the settings and reboot
