Upgrade Instructions for EyeLink Portable Duo Host software 6.54

The latest EyeLink Portable Duo Host PC software runs on an upgraded real-time operating system. Consequently, if you are updating a Host PC from software version 6.52 or older, this one-time upgrade process is required.
Future updates within the 6.5x series will be handled through the standard File Manager update process.
Note: If you are already running version 6.54 or higher, you do not need to follow these instructions.
Updating to the latest Host Software is always recommended, as it ensures you benefit from the latest features, stability enhancements, and other improvements. If you prefer not to perform this upgrade, you can download version 6.12 from the link below; however, there will be no further development of the 6.1x Host software.
Step 1: Back Up Your Files
IMPORTANT: This one-time update process will reimage your Host PC's hard disk, which erases all existing data. Before proceeding, you must back up the following critical files:

Please click the link corresponding to your Host PC's make and model and follow all the provided steps.
If you have issues with the link for the image in any of the PDF files above please find the latest quick restore image here. However, keep in mind that this image will not function properly without all of the BIOS settings outlined in the pdfs above.
Step 3: Restore Files and Finalize Configuration
After reimaging is complete, the Host PC will restart. Once the Host software has loaded, press CTL+ALT+Q or click Exit Eyelink to exit back to the File Manager interface. From the File Manager you must to copy files you backed up previously to the /ELCL/EXE/ folder on your Host PC to restore your previous settings.
To verify these settings, click the Configurations icon (gear icon in the top left corner of the screen), go to the Screen Settings Wizard (4th icon from the left) and make sure that the listed measurements are correct for your display and testing environment.
If everything looks correct, you can click the EyeLink logo in the top left corner to start the host software.
If you encounter issues with the upgrade or need to revert to a previous version of the Host PC software after installing the update, please contact support@sr-research.com for instructions.

- EDF Files: Copy any data files you wish to keep.
- SCD File: This file is camera-specific and essential for operation.
- final.ini: Copy this file if it contains custom parameter settings for your system.
- physical.ini: Copy this file as it contains physical configuration settings.
