FAQ: How can I change how screen resource locations are referenced (top-left vs. center)?
#1
You can define the on-screen position of resources (such as text, images, and videos) using one of two reference points:
  • Center (Default): The X and Y position values you enter correspond to the exact center of the stimulus.
  • Top-Left: The X and Y coordinates correspond to the top-left corner of the stimulus. This is particularly useful for left-aligning text, ensuring that the starting position of a line remains constant regardless of the text length.
You can globally change this setting for the entire project by navigating to: Edit -> Preferences -> Screen -> Location Type:

From there, choose between Center and TopLeft Position.

⚠️ Important: This is a Project-Wide Setting
Please be aware that this is a global setting for your project. It is not possible to use center coordinates for some resources and top-left coordinates for others within the same experiment. Your choice of Center or TopLeft will apply to all stimuli.
