FAQ: How can I synchronize my experiment with other external devices?
#1
Experiment Builder offers several built-in options for synchronizing your eye-tracking data with external equipment.
  • Direct EEG System Integration
We offer direct support for synchronization with Brain Products and EGI EEG systems. For detailed setup instructions, please see the relevant Third-Party Getting Started Guides.
  • General TTL Signaling
Experiment Builder also supports universal, TTL-based communication for a wide range of devices via the SET_TTL and BIOMETRIC_TTL nodes allow you to send or receive analog signals to another device. TTLs can be sent via a variety of supported devices:
    • The Display PC's parallel port (supports up to 4 devices).
    • A supported USB-based TTL device (e.g., USB2TTL8 or USB-1208HS).
    • The EyeLink Host PC's parallel port.
  • Custom Solutions via Custom Class (Python)
For unique or unsupported hardware, you can create bespoke communication setups using Experiment Builder's Custom Class feature. This allows you to write your own functions and nodes using Python 2.7-compatible modules to interact with virtually any device.
