You can save the layout of your Interest Areas (IAs) as an Interest Area Set (.ias file). This allows you to easily apply the same IA layout to multiple similar trials without having to redraw them each time.
- Step 1: Group Your Trials by Stimulus
First, group your trials based on the unique stimuli that were presented.- Go to Edit > Trial Grouping....
- Select the variables that identify each unique trial type (e.g., left_image and right_image).
- Click Regroup.
- Go to Edit > Trial Grouping....
- Step 2: Create and Save Your First IA Set
- Select a single trial from the first group in the Inspector.
- In the Spatial Overlay view, draw or edit the IAs exactly as you want them for this trial type.
- Go to Interest Areas > Save Interest Area Set... to save the layout as an .ias file.
- When prompted to "add the interest area file to the Interest Area Template list," choose Yes.
- Select a single trial from the first group in the Inspector.
- Step 3: Apply the IA Set to the Group
- Now, select the entire trial group in the Inspector.
- In the bottom panel of the Inspector > Data tab, find the Default Interest Area Set dropdown menu.
- Choose the .ias file you just saved. This will apply your saved IA layout to all trials within that group.
- Now, select the entire trial group in the Inspector.
- Step 4: Repeat for Other Groups
Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each of the remaining trial groups, creating and applying a unique Interest Area Set for each unique stimulus layout.
