FAQ: How can I add / edit my Trial Variables after my data collection has finished?

You can create new Trial Variables in Data Viewer to add supplementary information to your trials, such as annotations, participant responses, or data from external sources.

1. Create the New Variable
   
   1. From the main menu, navigate to Analysis > Trial Variable Value Manager.
      
   2. Create your new Trial Variable. You can optionally provide a default value that will be automatically applied to all trials.
         
      
   
   
2. Populate the Variable with Data
   Once the variable is created, you must assign specific values to each trial.
   
   1. Go to Analysis > Trial Variable Value Editor to open the data grid.
         
      
   2. You can populate the values using one of two methods:
      • Manual Entry: Click on a specific cell and type the value directly.
        
      • Copy & Paste: Copy a column of values from an external spreadsheet (e.g., Excel) and paste it directly into the variable's column within the editor.
