FAQ: How can I resize and / or move a rectangular or elliptical Interest Area?
#1
You can move, resize, and modify Interest Areas (IAs) using three different methods depending on the level of precision required.

Direct Manipulation (Mouse + Modifier Key)
You can quickly resize or move an IA using the mouse in combination with the ALT (Windows) or Option (Mac) key.
  • To Resize an IA:
    • Select the IA.
    • Hold down the ALT (on Windows) or Option (on Mac) key.
    • Hover over an edge or corner until the cursor becomes a double-sided arrow, then click and drag.
  • To Move an IA:
    • Select the IA.
    • Hold down the ALT (on Windows) or Option (on Mac) key.
    • Click anywhere inside the IA and drag to reposition it.
Advanced Actions (Right-Click Menu)
For shape-specific transformations, select an IA, right-click, and choose IA Shape Actions. This menu allows you to:
  • Resize Edges: Expand or contract specific edges by a defined pixel amount.
  • Resize by %: Scale the entire IA by a percentage.
  • Rotate or Flip: Change the orientation of the IA.
  • Convert Shape: Transform the IA into a different geometry (e.g., from rectangle to ellipse).
Precise Adjustments (Inspector Panel)
For pixel-perfect positioning, you can directly edit the coordinates:
  • Select the IA.
  • Navigate to the Inspector window's Data tab (lower panel).
  • Manually enter the numerical values for the Left, Right, Top, and Bottom boundaries.
