FAQ: *How can I reparse my data with different event parsing parameters?
#1
If you need to re-classify fixations and saccades based on different criteria, you can reparse your eye movement data in Data Viewer. This can be done automatically for entire trials or groups, or manually for individual events.

Method 1: Automatic Reparsing
To automatically reparse data for a trial, a participant, or even the entire session:
  • In the Inspector window, right-click on the trial or grouping node you want to reparse.
  • Select Reparse Eye Events from the context menu.
This action applies the current parsing settings, which you can configure in the Inspector > Preferences > Output / Analysis > Event Reparsing section. Here, you can choose between EyeLink's Standard or High Sensitivity parsers, or define your own custom settings. For more details, please see Section 5.1 of the Data Viewer User Manual on Event Parsing.

Method 2: Manual Event Editing
For more fine-grained control, you can manually re-categorize individual events (e.g., change a fixation to a saccade). This is done in the Temporal Graph view using the Add / Edit Event Mode.

For a detailed guide on this approach, please see the following How can I manually create / edit events?
