The variables in the sample report which start with AVERAGE_ are used when binocular data was recorded, and contain the average of the LEFT_ and RIGHT_ fields for each variable in the sample report. If monocular data was collected then these fields will be blank.
If your data set has a mixture of monocular data, enabling Cyclopean mode in the preferences (Preferences tab in the Inspector window -> Output / Analysis -> Cyclopean Mode) will allow the AVERAGE_ variables to be populated by data from whichever eye was recorded. This can greatly simplify analysis, as it avoids you having to export separate LEFT_ and RIGHT_ variables and then merge them.
