FAQ: Why are the AVERAGE_* variables in the sample report blank?
#1
In Data Viewer reports, you'll often find variables prefixed with LEFT_, RIGHT_, and AVERAGE_.
  • For binocular data: The AVERAGE_ variables contain the average of the corresponding LEFT_ and RIGHT_ eye data.
  • For monocular data: The AVERAGE_ variables will be blank by default, as there is no second eye to average with.
Simplifying Analysis with Cyclopean Mode
If your dataset contains a mix of monocular and binocular recordings, analyzing separate LEFT_ and RIGHT_ columns can be complicated.

Cyclopean Mode solves this problem. When enabled, it intelligently populates the AVERAGE_ variables with data from whichever eye was recorded, creating a single, unified column for your analysis.

To enable this feature:
  • In the Inspector window, go to the Preferences tab.
  • Select the Output / Analysis section.
  • Check the box next to Cyclopean Mode.
