FAQ: Why can't I see any pupil size data in my Trial Report or Sample Report?
#1
There are two different types of pupil size data stored in the EDF Files. Pupil data is recorded with each sample and these values are averaged for each fixation. The Trial Reports and Sample Reports will use / output the sample data whereas all the other reports use the averaged fixation event data. Older versions of Data Viewer did not by default load the sample data from the EDF file and therefore the pupil size data may be missing from Trial and Sample Reports. To fix this issue, go to the Preferences tab of the Inspector window, then go to Data Loading and make sure there is a check in the box that says Load Samples.

Finally, remove all existing EDF files from the Viewing Session (right click and choose delete) and then reload all of the files (File menu -> Import Data -> Multiple EyeLink Data Files).
