FAQ: I can't open Data Viewer on macOS
#1
By default, macOS includes security features that may prevent you from opening programs downloaded directly from the internet. If you are having trouble running Data Viewer or Experiment Builder, you must adjust your security settings and install a required driver.
  1. Adjust Security Settings to Run the App
Modern versions of macOS require you to manually approve applications that are not from the App Store.
    1. First, try to open the application by double-clicking it. You will likely see an error message stating it cannot be opened. This is expected.
    2. Navigate to System Settings (or System Preferences on older versions).
    3. Go to Privacy & Security and scroll down to the "Security" section.
    4. You should see a message stating the application "was blocked from use because it is not from an identified developer." Click the Open Anyway button next to this message.
Note: You may be prompted to enter your administrator password.
    5. The application should now open and will be trusted by your Mac for future launches.

  2. Install the HASP License Key Driver
Both Data Viewer and Experiment Builder require a specific driver for the USB license key to function. This driver is included in your download package.
    1. Open the Data Viewer .dmg file.
    2. Inside, locate and open the HASP folder.
    3. Double-click the installer disk image: Sentinel_HASP_RTE_Installer.dmg.
    4. Run the Install HASP SRM Runtime Environment package to complete the installation.
