FAQ: Why is my license key not recognized or it says that it has expired?

Experiment Builder can be licensed in one of three ways:
  • A physical USB Hasp license key.
  • A network-based license key.
  • A one-time product key.
       
If you do not currently own a license and would like to purchase one you can contact sales@sr-research.com



If Experiment Builder launches in Demo Mode, please follow the relevant troubleshooting steps below.
  1. Install the Hasp Driver
    To install the HASP Driver, run the "Install HASP Driver" application that was included with your software.
    • Windows: Start Menu > All Programs > SR Research > Install HASP Driver
    • macOS: /Applications/[Software Name]/Install HASP Driver.app

  2. Activate Your License Type
    Follow the instructions below that match your specific license key.
    • USB License Key
      • No additional steps are needed as long as the HASP driver from Step 1 is installed.
      • Plug the key into a USB port. The LED on the back of the key should glow solid red.
      Note: The software can be installed on many computers, but the USB key must be plugged into the computer running the software.

    • Software License Key
      • Open the SR Research License Manager.
        • Windows: Start Menu > SR Research > License Manager
             
        • macOS: /Applications/Experiment Builder/LicenseManager.app
             
      • Ensure you are connected to the internet.
      • In the License Manager, go to File > Activate.
           
      • Paste in the activation code you were provided and click OK.

    • Network License Key
      • For Client Computers:
        • Open the License Manager application.
        • Go to File > Enable Net Key. This allows the computer to find a license on your local network.
             
      • For the Server Computer:
        • Please contact support@sr-research.com for server-side configuration instructions.
  3. Verify Your License
    • Open the SR Research License Manager.
    • You should see the word "YES" next to the name of the software your license covers.
         
      Note: For time-limited keys, an expiration date will also be displayed.


If issues still persist, please take photos of the front and back of the license key and a screenshot of the License Manager screen and send it to support@sr-research.com.
