FAQ: What does the “SCD##### file not found” error mean when booting the Host PC?
#1
This error indicates that the unique camera configuration file (SCD file) for your EyeLink 1000 / EyeLink 1000 Plus system is missing from the Host PC. The Host PC cannot communicate with the camera without this file.
  • First, Locate Your SCD File
A copy of this file is on the original media (USB drive or DVD) that came with your EyeLink system.

If you cannot find your original media: Please email our support team at support@sr-research.com. Be sure to include the serial number from your camera so we can send you the correct file. The serial number can be found on a sticker on the camera itself, and typically comprises 3 letters followed by 2 numbers eg BAC21.

  • Copy the file to the SCD folder on your Host PC

      • Click the EyeLink logo in the top-left corner to restart the Host software.
    • Method 2: Using the Remote File Manager

      • On your Display PC, open a web browser and enter the Host PC's IP address (e.g., 100.1.1.1) as the URL.
      • In the web interface, navigate to the /ELCL/SCD/ folder.
      • Click the Upload button and select the SCD file from your Display PC (or a USB drive connected to it).
      • Once the upload is complete, click the EyeLink logo in the top-left corner of the Host PC screen to restart the software.
