FAQ: What does the “SCD##### file not found” error mean when booting the Host PC?
#1
This error means that the SCD file for the attached EyeLink camera is missing from the Host PC. The SCD file is unique to each camera and is necessary for the Host PC to properly communicate with the EyeLink camera. A copy of this file is available with the media (USB or DVD) that came with the EyeLink camera. If you do not have the original media, please contact our support team at support@sr-research.com and be sure to include the serial number on your camera so we can send the appropriate file.

EyeLink 1000:
Reboot the Host PC into the Windows partition and copy the SCD from your USB drive to the /ELCL/EXE/ directory of of your EyeLink partition (typically D: or E:). Once you've replaced the file, restart the Host PC and select the EyeLink partition for the new SCD file to take effect.

EyeLink 1000 Plus:
From the error message screen, click the words "File Manager" in the top left corner of the Error screen to go back to the File Manager interface. From the File Manager interface, insert your USB and copy the file to the /ELCL/SCD/ folder of the File Manager. Once you've copied the file, select the EyeLink logo in the top left corner to restart the Host software.

Alternatively, with the File Manager interface on the Host PC, open a web browser on the Display PC and enter the IP address of the Host PC as the URL (e.g. 100.1.1.1) to bring up the remote File Manager interface. From the Remote File Manager interface, select the /ELCL/SCD/ folder from the file tree, click the Upload button, and select the SCD file from your Display PC or USB drive attached to the Display PC to remotely upload the file to the Host PC. Once the file transfer process has completed, select the EyeLink logo in the top left corner to restart the Host software.
