The Stimulus Display PC's IP address and subnet must be in the same range as the Host PC for the two computers to properly communicate in a peer-to-peer fashion.
The default IP address of the EyeLink Host PC is 100.1.1.1. Therefore, the Stimulus Display PC typically uses the IP address 100.1.1.2 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0.

- Disable all secondary network connections (e.g., Wi-Fi, secondary Ethernet adapters).

If the Display PC is a Windows 10 PC:
- Connect the Host PC to the Display PC using a single Ethernet cable, without any intervening devices.
- Go to the Control panel -> Network and Sharing Center -> Ethernet (1).
- Click the Properties button to open the Ethernet Properties (2).
- Select the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP / IPv4) listing (3).
- Click the Properties button to open the TCP / IPv4 Properties (4).
- Select the "Use the following IP address:".
- Enter the following information:
- IP address: 100.1.1.2
- Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
- Leave the Default gateway field blank.
- IP address: 100.1.1.2
- Click OK to apply changes.
- Connect the Host PC to the Display PC via an ethernet cable.
- Go to the Start Menu -> Settings -> Network and Sharing Center (1) .
- Click Advanced Options (2).
- Under the Advanced Network settings click the arrow next to your ethernet device to expand its options (1).
- Under "more adapter options" and select Edit (2).
- Double click on the "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" (3).
- Select the "Use the following IP address:" (4).
- Enter the following information:
- IP address: 100.1.1.2
- Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
- Leave the Default gateway field blank.
- IP address: 100.1.1.2
- Click OK to apply changes.
If the Display PC running macOS:
- Go to System Settings > Network (or System Preferences > Network on older macOS versions).
- Click the Action button (... or ⚙️) at the bottom of the network list.
- Choose Set Service Order.
- Click OK.
- In the main Network window, select your dedicated Ethernet adapter from the list on the left.
- Change the "Configure IPv4" dropdown menu to "Manually."
- Enter the following information:
- IP address: 100.1.1.2
- Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
- You can leave the "Router" and "DNS" fields blank.
- IP address: 100.1.1.2
- Click "Apply" to save settings.
- Click the Advanced... button.
- Go to the Hardware tab.
- Set the "Duplex" setting to "full-duplex." (Important: Make sure you do not select the "full-duplex, flow-control" option.)
- Click OK and then Apply.
- Additional steps for configuring macOS to communicate with the EyeLink 1000 or EyeLink II:
The hardware on these older systems does not support modern gigabit (1000 Mbps) connection speeds. While most computers detect this automatically, macOS—especially on Mac Minis—often fails to auto-detect the correct speed and must be configured manually.
- Complete all steps listed above
- Go back to the Network > Advanced... > Hardware tab.
- Find the Speed setting.
- Change it from "Automatically" to "100baseTX."
- Click OK and then Apply.

- Open the Settings application. You can find it by searching in the desktop launcher.
- Navigate to the Network tab in the left-hand menu.
- Find your Wired connection and click the gear icon ⚙️ next to it.
- In the window that appears, select the IPv4 tab.
- Set the "IPv4 Method" to Manual.
- Enter the following information:
- IP address: 100.1.1.2
- Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
- Leave the Default gateway field blank.
- IP address: 100.1.1.2
- Click the Apply button in the top-right corner to save the changes.
