Instructions
- Connect your Display PC directly to the EyeLink Host PC using an ethernet cable.
- Ensure your EyeLink Host PC is fully powered on.
- Launch the EyeLink Network Tool. The app will automatically scan your computer for plugged-in network cables.
- Locate your tracker's ethernet connection in the list. If it hasn't been set up yet, it will usually be labeled as an "Unconfigured Connection".
- Click Auto Setup.
- The utility will automatically apply the standard EyeLink settings (100.1.1.x) and check to make sure the tracker is communicating. Wait for the green "Success" card to appear.
- (Optional) If your lab uses a custom EyeLink IP address instead of the standard default, click Custom IP to enter the custom EyeLink Host IP manually.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues, here are the most common solutions:
- If the tool reports a "Missing Connection," please double-check that the ethernet cable is securely "clicked" into both the Display PC and the EyeLink. if you have recently connected the cable, wait a few moments before selecting 'Scan Network Again'.
- If you see an amber "EyeLink Unreachable" status, it means your network port is configured for an EyeLink, but it cannot communicate with the tracker. Ensure the EyeLink Host PC is fully powered on, wait a moment, and click Scan Again. If it still fails, the settings might have accidentally been applied to the wrong port (like your regular internet connection). Click Reset to DHCP to clear it and try again on the correct unconfigured ethernet connection.
- If you want to use your ethernet port for standard internet access again, just click Reset to DHCP. This removes the EyeLink settings and sets the connection back to automatic (default).
- If you tried setting up a Custom IP and it isn't working, click Restore Defaults to easily roll back to the standard tracker settings. This will also check for and ask if you want to reset any connection using that custom IP. In most troubleshooting scenarios, select yes.
