FAQ: Can I replace my EyeLink 1000 Plus network dongle?
#1
Yes, the EyeLink 1000 Plus network dongle for the Host PC-to-Display PC connection can be replaced, but only with a gigabit-capable network dongle featuring an ASIX AX88772 or AX88179 chipset. Please keep in mind that not all network dongles with these chipsets offer the reliability required for a Host-to-Display PC connection. We have tested numerous network dongles and identified a few widely available models that provide good performance and reliability:
  • IOGEAR GUC2100 [Discontinued]
  • UGREEN 20254 [Discontinued]
  • StarTech USB31000S
  • Plugable USB3-E1000
The adapters above should be plug-and-play with EyeLink 1000 Plus Host PCs running Host software versions up to 5.54. While other adapters with the correct chipset may work, we do not recommend using unverified models, as they may result in poor performance or dropped messages.
