FAQ: How can I export data from Data Viewer?
#1
You can export your data from Data Viewer by generating a report from the Analysis > Reports menu.

How Reports are Structured
The structure of the output file is determined by two main factors:
  • Report Type determines the ROWS: The type of report you choose determines what each row represents. For example:
    • In a Fixation Report, each row is a single fixation.
    • In an Interest Area Report, each row is a single Interest Area.
  • Selected Variables determine the COLUMNS: The variables you select in the report dialog will become the columns of your output file.
Available Variables
When you create a report, a dialog box will appear where you can select your variables. There are two main types:
  • Built-in Variables: A wide range of pre-defined variables calculated by Data Viewer (e.g., CURRENT_FIX_DURATION).
  • Trial Variables: Any variables from your experiment's Data Source or those you created manually in Data Viewer.
You can click on any variable in the list to see a description of what it measures. For a complete list of all available report variables, please consult the Data Viewer User Manual (Help > Contents > Data Analysis and Output).
