FAQ: Can I see the global view of the camera while recording data?
#1
Unfortunately, it's not possible to get a high-resolution image of the global camera view during a recording with any current EyeLink system. The only live images available are the small thumbnails on the Host PC's recording screen.

If you need to record the participant's face—for example, to analyze facial expressions or to monitor compliance—the recommended solution is to use the Subject Camera Plugin that is bundled with our WebLink software, and which can be integrated with Experiment Builder projects. This feature allows you to use a standard webcam to record video and audio of the participant. The resulting video is automatically timestamped with the EDF time for synchronization with the gaze data in your EDF file, and plays back in the latest versions of Data Viewer.

For more details on this functionality, please visit our WebLink product page or, if using Experiment Builder, check the Help File for detailed instructions on how to use the Participant Camera Plugin.
