fMRI

In Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), images of active blood flow are taken and compared over time to characterize how activation profiles time-locked to the stimulus change, thereby yielding insight into functions that the brain performs. Creating such images requires the use of extremely strong magnetic fields.

SR Research is pleased to announce the availability of an EyeLink 1000 Plus system for use in MRI environments with the following characteristics:
  • non-ferromagnetic optimized design
  • up to 2000 Hz sampling rate
  • down to 0.01º RMS spatial resolution
  • real-time eye position access of 1.4 msec (SD < 0.4 msec) @ 2000 Hz
  • supports Camera-to-eye distances of 60 - 150 cm
  • multiple purpose system can be used in MRI and also non-MRI environments.
  • fiber optic camera can be used will all 5 EyeLink 1000 Plus mounting options.

The EyeLink 1000 Plus Fiber Optic camera and Long Range Mount can be affixed to the bottom of a MRI head-side projector screen, at or even just inside the MRI bore opening. Given the variability in MRI set-ups, please contact us with your MRI room details so that we can provide more input as to the possible mounting options for your situation.

MRI interference tests were performed with the EyeLink 1000 Plus Fiber Optic Camera and Long Range illuminator at a distance of 12 inches (30 cm) from the head coil.

    Upgrades the standard EyeLink 1000 Plus camera to the miniature
    Fiber Optic camera head.
  • EyeLink 1000 Plus Long Range Mount (ELP-LR-89)
    Non-ferromagnetic optimized design. Supports eye to camera distances
    between 60 and 150cm.

Other Common Options

  • Analog Output Card (EL-ANL)
    A 16 bit analog output card for your host computer allows x,y eye position and pupil size data to be streamed as voltages to be used by other devices. The hard real-time image processing and data output capabilities of the EyeLink system are utilized to produce less than 40 usec (0.04 msec) of inter-sample jitter.
  • 2000 Hz Camera Upgrade (ELP-2K-UP)
    Upgrading the EyeLink 1000 Plus camera to 2000 Hz provides the world's fastest sample rate and access time. This upgrade also enables 1000 Hz recording of each eye when recording binocularly.
  • SR Research Experiment Builder and Data Viewer Software Bundle (EL-DVEB)
    Experiment Builder and Data Viewer enable easy implementation of most experimental paradigms and provide simple access to the features of the EyeLink eye tracker.
