Researchers are increasingly aware of the benefits of recording gaze while simultaneously acquiring other neurophysiological data via techniques such as electroencephalography (EEG) and functional near infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS). Eye tracking allows researchers to monitor participant engagement and task-compliance, track and control for potentially confounding factors such as saccades, microsaccades and blinks. Eye tracking also allows stimulus presentation to be controlled in a gaze-contingent manner, greatly increasing the range of perceptual and cognitive operations that can be explored. EyeLink systems provide a range of synchronization options, allowing researchers to employ advanced analytical techniques such as time locking the EEG and fNIRS data to specific oculomotor events.

Fast, Accurate and Reliable Eye Tracking
  • Head free-to-move Remote Mode ensures that there is no interference with electrodes from head-stabilization equipment.
  • Up to 2000 Hz binocular sampling rates, and exceptionally high levels of precision ensure even the smallest eye movements (including microsaccades) can be detected.
  • Multiple synchronization options include Ethernet messaging and / or TTL signalling, as well as an analog output option.

  • The EyeLink 1000 Plus operates at a distance of 50-70cm from the sensor arrays and does not introduce noise into the recording environment.
  • For sites that require the eye tracking hardware to be further than 70cm away, the fibre-optic camera upgrade and long range mount are ideal.

  • The EyeLink Portable Duo also operates in both head-stabilized and remote, head free to move modes, and is ideal for EEG scenarios that do not require analog output or long camera to eye distances.
