(https://www.sr-research.com) is currently looking for a candidate to fill a full-time position as Electronics Manufacturing Technologist at our office which is located near Toronto, Canada (Unit A1 – 2872 Bristol Circle, Oakville ON L6H 5T5 Canada). Essential Job Roles and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will:
- Perform calibration, functional testing, and inspection of subassemblies and final assemblies, including optical lenses and highly sensitive sensor systems, using approved test procedures and QNX based system interfaces where applicable
- Inspect incoming electronics, mechanical components, optics, and sensors against defined acceptance criteria and production documentation
- Build and assemble electromechanical and optical subassemblies in accordance with approved work instructions and quality procedures
- Troubleshoot and repair returned products (RMA), including fault isolation, corrective actions, and documentation of findings, supporting system level verification activities
- Apply working knowledge of electrical interfaces and connectors such as parallel ports, AUX, BNC, and LEMO cables during assembly, testing, and troubleshooting
- Perform inventory and production operations using the Brightpearl inventory system, including material tracking, warehouse organization, processing of Purchase Orders and Sales Orders, and generation of inventory and production reports
- Maintain accurate production documentation and data records, including standard operating procedures, manufacturing data records, calibration logs, inspection reports, test results, and traceability documentation
Qualifications
The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications/experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience in electronics, mechanical, and system assembly, integration, quality control and root cause analysis
- Hands-on experience with electronics, mechanical components, sensors and optics
- Working knowledge of manufacturing and inspection standards including IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033B.1, and IPC 7711/7721
- Working knowledge of QNX operating systems within a production, testing, or system verification environment.
- Strong skills in wiring, through-hole and SMT soldering, rework on microchip is an asset, and use of production tools and equipment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and work instructions. AutoCAD certification is preferable
- Experience in using the Brightpearl inventory system in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within production and cross-functional teams
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with disciplined documentation and traceability practices
Salary and Benefits
- Salary: $71,000 annually ($36.41/hour, 37.5 hours/week)
